VOICE FOR LIFE - ROTORUA

Make a Difference Today

Home: Welcome

OUR CORE VALUES

We acknowledge the many other individuals and groups who have worked tirelessly to
esteem the sanctity of life within our nation for many years, and who continue to do so
today.
At the same time, we recognise that individuals and groups often hold different
philosophies and approaches when it comes to their pro-life efforts, so we strive for there to
be a spirit of unity through diversity among pro-lifers.
In saying this, we believe that it is important that prospective Branches of Voice For Life, are
aware of the values that we hold to, so that they can make a well-informed decision as to
whether our distinct, pro-life expression is the right fit for them.
It is for this reason, we have articulated the core values of Voice for Life below, which act
as a guide for the direction of Branches, as we seek to fulfil our mission.
We realise that the core values of Voice for Life may not be a suitable fit for every pro-lifer,
so we are glad that there are other pro-life expressions that they can be part of instead.
But for those who feel as though our core values resonate with them, we warmly welcome
you to partner with us in the critical mission that is before us.

Voice for Life began as Society for the Protection of the Unborn Child, as such, we still
view the unborn child with the utmost respect and have concern for their wellbeing,
seeking to speak out for their right to life. With that said, VFL recognises that abortion is an
oftentimes agonising decision and that women who find themselves facing a difficult
pregnancy need a compassionate, non-judgemental and charitable offer of assistance. If
we don’t help the mother, we can’t expect to save the unborn child.

The changing values in our society compels VFL to also speak up for, and support the
elderly, the disabled, and other vulnerable members of our community. We assert the right
to life from womb to tomb, and advocate as such.

VFL recognises that there are other issues that oftentimes appear related to the topic of
abortion, such as contraception, however, VFL’s primary focus is on abortion and
euthanasia, we are too diverse a community and not well enough resourced to take on
multiple subjects that sit outside those immediate concerns.

While VFL recognises that many of its members are people of faith, VFL is not associated
or affiliated with any particular religion. While there may be times when VFL Branch
members express their faith in a public setting, they must carefully make the distinction that
their personal views do not represent VFL as a whole, along with ensuring that their
expressions of faith are exercised in a spirit of love, acceptance, and care for all.
